What do I need to do to pass my test?
Passing your test is your main objective; it’s why you learn to drive but focus on each step separately. The first step you must take is apply for your provisional licence, once you have done this you can book your driving lessons, the first test that you will need to pass is the theory test (a multiple-choice exam assessing you on your road knowledge) this can be practiced with the instructor and online, there are also books and DVD’s you can buy for help. Once your theory is passed you can then book your practical test being as you and your instructor agree you are at test standard.
How many hours will I need before being test-ready?
Every individual is different depending on their own ability; it can take between 15-40+ hours of professional practice for a person to be at test standard. Remember this is not something you can rush, but the instructors will help you through at a comfortable pace for you.

How do I pay?
You can pre-pay for your driving lessons and get your lessons for £1 cheaper; you can do this by paying online or with your driving instructor 24 hours prior to your lesson. If you pay on the day the cost will be £1 extra per hour.
To be able to learn with a friend or family member you will need to be insured on their car. If you are with a driving instructor, don’t worry as their insurance will cover you.
Full licence holder insurance
If you had learner insurance, it will have to then be upgraded when you pass your driving test. Every driver must have insurance as this covers you for any accidents or incidents you are involved in.
How to help cut costs
Generally driving as a new driver comes pretty costly, insurance for new drivers are more likely to be paying more than an older, more experienced driver. but there are ways of getting around this;

Mock tests – Your instructor will be able to take mock tests with you to give you a feel for how the test will pan out. This will help prepare you for the exam.
Find a sooner test – You can pay to be put on a cancellation finder which will send you text messages with sooner dates to the one you already have booked in, simply reply within a certain time-frame with the reply they give and it automatically changes your test for you.
